easy garlic bread under broiler

Growing up, garlic bread was a staple in our house. It was always on the table with our Sunday dinner sauce, perfect for soaking up whatever was left on your plate.

Grunt’s makes our version ridiculously easy. Butter, Parmesan (if you choose) and plenty of garlicky herbs spread over a good loaf of bread and baked until the edges are crispy and the middle is warm and buttery.

It’s familiar, simple and exactly the kind of food that belongs on our table.

Grunt's Garlic Bread

Easy homemade garlic bread made with butter, Grunt's Garlic Herb Blend and Parmesan, then baked until golden and crispy around the edges.

Prep: 5 minutes | Bake: 10–12 minutes | Total: 17 minutes | Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread

  • ½ cup softened butter

  • 1 tbsp Grunt's Garlic Herb Blend

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan

  • Optional: ½ cup shredded mozzarella

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Stir softened butter, Grunt's and Parmesan together.

3. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.

4. Cover both halves generously with the garlic-herb butter. Add mozzarella if you'd like cheesy garlic bread.

5. Bake for 8–10 minutes. Broil for another 1–2 minutes if you want the top extra golden.

6. Slice and serve. Let cool slightly, cut into pieces and serve warm.

A Few Notes

  • Watch closely under the broiler. Garlic bread can go from golden to whoops surprisingly fast.

  • The garlic butter can be made ahead and kept refrigerated.

  • Perfect with pasta, soup, salad or honestly just by itself.
